Trentino is a land of waters: over 2000 km of rivers and streams, almost 300 lakes, renowned thermal centres where water becomes health for body and mind.
At the Terme di Comano, water means first of all health for the skin of adults and children. It also means fishing thanks to the Sarca river and its many tributaries. Finally, it also means relax, sport and fun thanks to the lakes that surround them.
25km south from the Terme di Comano, it’s the biggest lake of Italy, and its climate is particularly mild.
The clear light, the delicate climate, a rich vegetation mostly offering olive trees, palm trees, cypress trees, lemon trees, oleander trees and larch trees, and the majestic beauty of the lands, make Lake Garda the most beautiful among all Italian lakes. A unique destination which can host all kinds of holiday lovers: the ones who look for relax, those who come for practicing sports and those who come for the good times.
A peculiar mountain lake with unique light-blue coloured waters. It is immersed in deep green woods and can be reached with a pleasant walk that brings you down a small ladder that allows you to stroll by the shores and reach the beautiful small beaches of pebbles and grass.
Some ten km north of the Terme di Comano, right at the feet of the Dolomites of the Brenta.
Nembia is a small mirror of crystal clear water, fish reserve that will host the XXI° European Fly-Fishing Championship, surrounded by a wonderful natural environment that will lead to pleasant walks.
One of the biggest in Trentino, it’s an extraordinary alternation of chromatic blue and green shades that invite your gaze to confuse the waters with the shores, almost as if the maple, dogwood, nut trees and birch trees woods were to dive into the lake, covering it’s shores. It is the natural habitat to Perch fish, Marble trout and Arctic Char thanks to the care of the inhabitants of these lands, who have looked after this ecosystem for centuries.
On the main road taking you to Trento, you will find the Toblino Lake with the castle owning the same name. Surrounded by a luxuriant rushes, it’s considered a biotope for the botanical and ecological properties that distinguish it.
It is not forbidden to swim in it, but the temperature of the waters and its strong currents do not tend to invite you in. However, it is definitely worth enjoying a walk around its shores.
Discovering Trentino means living a varied experience which you will never forget: nature, wellbeing, culture and local traditions offer a land that will always surprise you.
From the 21st September to the 27th September 2015, the program will be embraced by the beautiful sceneries of the Dolomites of the Brenta and Adamello, from where the Sarca river is born. 4 contest fields along the river and one in the little Alpine lake Nembia, where European contesters coming from 20 different countries will be competing in the art of fly fishing. It is a technique that requires high level of competence as well as sophisticated equipment, often handmade by the fisherman himself, who pays attention to the morphology of the insects naturally present in the vicinity of the water streams at a particular time. The technique requires the catch and immediate release of the prey, right after the judge verifies the length of the fish. The last edition of the Championship was held in Sweden.
The 21st FIPS-Mouche European Fly Fishing Championship will be held along the Sarca river, which comes from the glaciers of the Adamello and flows into Lake Garda, from where it exits with the name of Mincio. 77km separate the spring from the lake.
The Championship contests will take place on 4 different sections along the higher level of the Sarca river: in Val Genova, in the area around Pinzolo, in the neighbouring areas of Tione di Trento and in Terme di Comano/Ponte Arche. The fifth section will be the Lake of Nembia.
Every athlete will have at his/her disposal around 200 metres of river for each of the five contests, always with section rotation.
